Lifetime Achievement Award
As we celebrate our 190th year, it gives us great pleasure to congratulate our Managing Director, Billy Valler, who received the Lifetime Achievement Award at The Tile Association Awards 2023! Billy really embodies the tiling industry, having been totally involved in this sector, man and boy. He has made significant contributions as a member of TTA’s Technical Committee and the Board, and as a member of TTA’s Technical Inspection team.
Best Commercial Project – Small Award
W.B. Simpson & Sons’ stunning London office refurbishment project wins Best Commercial Project – Small Award! The project at Babmaes Street, London was completed in 2022. Grey resin terrazzo was installed in the main reception and ground floor staircase, finished beautifully with faceted risers and bronze studs to all treads. Tiling was also carried out for WCs, showers and changing rooms.

Trainee Tile Fixer of the Year
Matthew Sinkinson from W. B. Simpson & Sons (Midlands) has been awarded Trainee Tile Fixer of the Year! Matthew joined us in 2021 and quickly showed he is a keen learner. As well as studying at South and City College, Birmingham, Matthew is expanding his knowledge of tiling practices. Making strong progress he is now working alongside senior tilers representing W. B. Simpson & Sons (Midlands) on some prestigious projects.
