Celebrating this week with the news that star apprentice at W.B. Simpson and Sons Midlands, Charlie Green, has been shortlisted for ‘Trainee Tile Fixer of the Year’ at this year’s TTA Awards.
Charlie has been studying Wall and Floor Tiling at Moulton College, Northampton and has successfully achieved NVQ Level 2. Since 2016 he has been supported and trained by our senior tilers, many of which were apprentice tilers with W.B. Simpson and Sons themselves.
Charlie has represented the company on various projects, particularly the new HSBC HQ in the heart of Birmingham. The 11 storey building is the first building to be constructed to LEED (Leadership in Environmental and Energy Design) in Birmingham, it is one of the greenest buildings in the city and the first to receive Gold Accreditation. Something we are sure Charlie will look back upon as an honour to have been involved with. The building has also got W.B. Simpson Midlands shortlisted for ‘Best Large Commercial Project’ this year.
