W.B. Simpson & Sons are proud to announce the appointment of Marc Poland to the position of Managing Director.
Marc’s journey with WBS started back in 1994 when joined the company as an apprentice tiler, working under his father Tony (himself now retired, although still much respected as a long serving member of the WBS family).
Marc progressed through the company, finishing his apprenticeship, and going onto become a highly skilled fixer with experience in all disciplines of tiling, natural stone, and terrazzo.
These trade skills proved invaluable when he moved into a management role, originally starting as an Assistant Project Manager at the Wembley Stadium project in the early 2000s through to becoming our Senior Contracts Manager by the mid-2000s, often overseeing a number of our larger, more complex projects at any given time.
Marc’s contributions to the company were duly recognised in his 20th year with WBS, when in 2014, he was appointed to the board as a Director.
Since then, his focus has been on the continued successful delivery of projects whilst also assisting the estimating team with securing future works and helping to maintain and build relationships with key clients.
2024 represents Marc’s 30th year with the company, and with the full support of all the WBS team behind him, we are delighted to be led into a new era of our long history, which we hope will be defined by Marc’s signature traits of drive, optimism, and passion for our trade.
