40 Broadway is a premium Grade A office building at the heart of Westminster, right next to St James’s Park. It offers around 125,000 sq ft of office space from the basement to the eighth floor and the development also features a ground-floor café.
The WC cores and core lift lobby walls were finished with over 700m² of 1200 x 600mm travertine-effect porcelain, delivering a refined and cohesive aesthetic. Basement shower areas, cleaners’ cupboards, and DDA facilities were completed using 600 x 600mm porcelain tiles, ensuring durability and consistency across high-use spaces.
Having originally tendered the project to have Travertine throughout all the core areas, over 700m² of Travertine was changed to a porcelain alternative to enable the client to achieve the same high quality finish, but in a more cost effective alternative.
Flooring throughout the cores featured over 500m² of 1000 x 1000 x 20mm cement-based terrazzo, providing both visual impact and long-term performance. The main reception was a particular highlight, incorporating 1200 x 1200 x 30mm cement-based terrazzo flooring, complemented by 20mm thick natural travertine wall cladding installed on a rail system.
The main staircase was completed using 20mm terrazzo with inlay strips.
